Death Doesn’t Become You

Coretta Scott King

With some on the left turning the church funeral service for Coretta Scott King into a Bush-bashing, anti-war fest, you would have thought you were watching the Democratic National Convention.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time

It’s one thing to disagree with Bush. I do. But you don’t bring your agenda to a funeral, I don’t care how much Coretta Scott King was against the Bush policies. The service is to remember the deceased, not rag on the living, namely Bush and his administration.

I thought it was petty, childish, and I would have liked to see Bush make a comment or two to the people in attendance that they didn’t want to hear. If they’re going after you, you can get a jab or two in there as well.

Bull Horn

In terms of the speakers and US Presidents featured at the service, Bill Clinton at least challenged the people to figuratively “get off their asses” and do something, make change. Unlike other speakers, he wasn’t taking cheap shots at Bush, who was helpless to defend himself sitting there.

You certainly don’t bring up the lack of WMD found in Iraq. Yeah, so? We know this, but why must you rub Bush’s nose in it at a funeral service? That was a cheap shot.

Keep ‘Em Separated

What about the separation of church and state the left talk about? They brought politics into the church, crossing their own line. There is no place for the two to coexist. If you don’t want prayer in school, don’t bring campaign speeches into church. It’s simple. Practice what you preach.
