If George W. Bush Was An Idiot- If?

There was a certain e-mail (SPAM) going around speaking ill of Obama and his presidency. They did a comparison of the things Obama did and a “what if” if GW did the same. I couldn’t help but responding to each claim. Personally, I think Obama has done nothing in a year, but it’s a better nothing than GW did in eight.

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

George Bush is the only president who SHOULD HAVE used a teleprompter. If he did, gems such as these wouldn’t have crossed his lips:

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee – I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee… that says, fool me once, shame on… shame on you. Fool me… you can’t get fooled again.”

“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB/GYN’s aren’t able to practice their love with women all across the country.”

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

Need we (GW) say more?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

GW didn’t have a desire for the high life. He felt much more at home in Crawford Texas, where he spent about 50% of his first 8 months of his presidency right up until that pesky 9-11 thing happened. He was having so much free fun that he didn’t have time to read the intelligence brief titled “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.” That would be a funny line, if it weren’t actually true. Note: 9-11 cost > than Obama trip.

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If not for the Obama administration, GM would no longer be a corporation, and your GM stock would have been reduced by 100%. That is, if you were still actually working in a US facility. Thanks to GW, most of those jobs headed across our border.

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

Absolutely not. At one point in his early life, GW surely must have competed in a special olympics tournament… and lost. I would never make fun of anyone’s disabilities.

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

George Bush couldn’t even tell you the DVD region code for the US, let alone a foreign country. Bush gives gifts that keep on giving, like a perpetual war in the mid-east.

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

This one is cruel. No one, especially the Queen of England, should ever be subjected to any speech, ever, by George Bush (see quotes above). Also, the chances of Bush actually syncing an iPod with iTunes would be less than his chances were for privatizing social security, which in essence, is an oxymoron. How can you privatize something that is social?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

Bowing would have been more graceful than walking around holding the hand of the Saudi Prince Abdullah at his ranch in Crawford, Texas back in 2005. The sad part is, I think the Prince was leading him.

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

George Bush always makes reference to his nonexistent language– English. Bush is more proficient in pig-latin than he is using English grammar. Some of his favorite words, including some he just made up are: misunderestimate, Strategery, nuc-u-lar, and my favorite, Amurkan, which I’m proud to be.

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

That would never happen under GW. He would have proposed congress lower the tax rates for his rich buddies. Those top 1% of income earners have it really bad these days.

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

Oh, like the time, on spanish television in 2001, when Bush was showing off his spanish, mispronounced the prime minister’s name. Bush later said “I have to practice this very lovely language. If I don’t practice I am going to destroy this language.” And that would make two.

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word “advice” would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?

This one is too easy, so I’m skipping it. The list of words GW has used and abused could fill a dictionary.

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?

Probably not. But planting a tree is creating life, the opposite of what Bush is best known for. Specifically the thousands of brave men and women who are now dead thanks to a war of choice in Iraq and a failed and flawed war in Afghanistan. Also, global warming is a myth, so why would Bush want to plant a tree in the first place?

If George W. Bush’s administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

Is that worse than Dick Cheney having the “presidential” powers of being able to authorize a shoot-down of a US plane. And worse, the plane which crashed in Pennsylvania on 9-11 was likely shot down and not crashed, as the debris field was “miles” wide, rather than centrally located in a crash site, as would be expected. Maybe Bush okay’d that one?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major on-going political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

George Bush first heard about Katrina on TV a week after it happened. People were sitting on roofs for 5 days before Bush had the noble idea of flying a helicopter over New Orleans and giving a presidential wave to all the victims.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

GM asked the government for help. They gave up certain rights when they did that. What’s this, a company within a capitalistic society asking the government for socialism? If something is unconstitutional, take it to the Supreme Court. Justice shall prevail.

If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

Oh, this must be the new math. Bill Clinton left the white house with a surplus. GW took over and never once vetoed a spending bill and dug this country into deficits and a trillion dollar war(s). And to add insult to injury, he and the Goldman Sachs crooks cost the country 700 billion in TARP relief right as the presidential door was hitting him in the ass. Remember the one page relief plan Henry Paulson, former CEO of Goldman presented? It stated that he could dole out the money as he saw fit and that there would be no legal recourse against him. Not surprisingly, Goldman got tens of billions from that deal.

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

10 years? Bush would have needed just half a third term and he would have tripled it!
