MacJournal: A New Way To Organize

If there’s one problem I’ve had since 1994, it’s how to keep all of my miscellaneous text, image and file data organized, in one place, and in a file format that will be viewable years to come. This usually involved Microsoft Works, MS Word, Text Files, and various other files, such as .bmp and even obsolete file formats– that is until now.
Finders Keepers
I stumbled across a fantastic little app called MacJournal, from Mariner Software. Now, the name MacJournal must bring to mind thoughts of blank file where you can write some text, and save. Big wow.
You would be so wrong.
A Powerhouse
MacJournal is the most robust journaling software– almost file management even, that I’ve seen thus far. Not only can you write a simple journal with text, you can add images, other files, HTML, export to several file formats, publish your comments to your online blog, and so much more! You even have the ability to do searches and add keywords to your entries.
Keeping track of several pieces of information/data? Create separate journals for any topic you keep notes on. I’ve converted all my old documents that I kept around just for the content into MacJournal. You also have full control over the style of the entries, including fonts, colors and templates. And if that’s not enough, there is a built in sound recorder so you can record your voice and keep those comments attached to the journal entry.
Rather than having dozens of files stored in several folders in my home directory, I now one all of my files within MacJournal. One place, one solution.
A real Mac winner.
