The Sounds Of Progress

Having just sold my Gateway PC recently on eBay (well, actually the parts of it), I’d like to think back at all the pleasure it gave me. There were good days. However, there were too many bad days; too many even to count.
Aside from the fact that I got sick and tired of viruses, spyware, malware, and adware, my ears couldn’t take the sound of my PC any longer. I mean, this thing was a beast in size, and didn’t disappoint when it came to bark vs. bite. At the breaking point in February of 2005, I decided to buy a Mac mini, which I’ve since upgraded to an iMac.

Through the magic of science, I can now let you hear what I had to endure for many, many months. The first half of the audio file is the Mac mini. Most of the noise is just background noise. You can hardly hear the fan. It’s super-quiet. The second half is the PC. Well, you’ll know when you get to it.
The audio was recorded six inches from each sound source with a top quality microphone.
I’d Like To Thank…
Special thanks to Bill Gates, Microsoft, and Bungie Studios (makers of the Halo video game franchise) for pushing me to make the switch from PC to Mac.
PS- I mentioned before how I sold the parts on eBay… I sold all the drives, the RAM, and some cards for a total of $41.00. How much did I buy the Gateway PC back in 2002? A whopping $3799.99– and that included an upgraded video card. I was supposed to do video on this. I never did one second of video.

I’m back to the mini. The iMac is on eBay as I write this!
